Evaluation of LEEP in Diagnosis and Treatment of Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia for 156 Cases

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the value of loop electrosurgical excision procedure(LEEP)in diagnosis and treatment of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia.Methods We retrospectively analyzed 156 cases with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia diagnosed by biopsy under the colposcopy and treated by LEEP.Surgical process,prognosis and changes of pathological grade were studied.Result The operation time lasted 2～25 min and the median was 7.2 min.The amount of blood loss was 3～50 mL and the median was 9.2 mL.The pathological grade went up in 18 cases(11.5%)and had no changes in 111cases(71%)while grade went down in 22 cases(17.3).The following up curative rate was 95.6%.Conclusion LEEP is safe and effective in diagnosis and treatment of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia.
