Abstract

Objective To observe the effect and safety of totalglycosidesofpaeony combined with sulfasalazine in treatment of ankylosing spondylitis. Methods 42patients with ankylosing spondylitis were divided into therapy group(n=22)and control group(n=20),therapy group received totalglycosidesofpaeony and sulfasalazine, and control group received sulfasalazine, and two groups received antiphlogistic anodyne drug. The course of treatment was 6 months. Results The morning stiffness duration、ESR、C-reaction protein、thoracic expansion and Schober test, etc in two groups were all obvious decrease after therapy than before therapy. The difference of morning stiffness duration、 ESR and C-reaction protein had significance between therapy group and control group. The occurring rate of adverse reactions was obvious lower in therapy group than control group. Conclusion The advantages of talglycosidesofpaeony combined with sulfasalazine in treatment of ankylosing spondylitis include approval results and low side effect, etc.
