Abstract
Objective To observe the proliferation inhibitive effect of Grub Extract on human lung cancer A549 cell line. Methods MTT assay was used to measure the growth inhibition rate of lung cancer A549 cell line treated with the Grub Extract. The expressions of Bax and p21 protein were detected. Results The growth of A549 cells treated with the Grub Extract were inhibited, and the expressions of Bax and p21 protein were up-regulated.The rate of apoptosis in Grub Extract group was significantly higher than that of control group, and the cells were blocked by Grub Extract at S phase of the cell cycle. Conclusion Grub Extract can obviously inhibit the growth of A549 cells by up-regulating Bax and p21 protein to block cells at S phase of the cell cycle.
