EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THE OBESITY MODEL IN RATS INDUCED BY HIGH FAT DIET

Abstract

[Objective]To explore the effect of high fat diet on the alimentary obesity model in rats.[Methods]The weight of rats and indexes of obesity were observed after feeding the rats with high fat diet for six weeks,and compared with the normal animal feeds.[Results]The weights of rats fed with high fat diet or common animal feeds were 328.51±34.67g and 298.44±4.39,respectively,and the Lee’s indexes were 226.98±48.43 g and 294.83±6.26,respectively. The weight and Lee’s indexes of rats fed with high fat diet showed significantly higher when compared with rats fed with common animal feeds(P﹤0.01,P﹤0.05). After successful establishment of the obesity model,the weight of fat,liver and kidney of rats fed with high fat diet were significantly higher when compared with rats fed with common animal feeds(P﹤0.05). The glucose tolerance(GT)and HDL-C had remarkably decreased while the TC,TG and LDL-C increased.[Conclusion]The high fat diet can induce obesity to rats,and companied with decreasing of GT and hyperlipemia(HL).
