Abstract
The general situation of the river channel of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River is introduced,and then the geological outlook of river pattern control and the role of river pattern control project in bringing the Yangtze River under control are expounded.Special stress is laid on discussing the main content and requirements of geological research of river pattern control project and the principles of the research are put forward.
