Abstract

Objective To explore the changes and clinical significance of serum IL-10 and MCP-1 in newborn infants with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy(HIE).Methods Sixty-four newborn infants were diagnosed for HIE,which were divided into mild HIE group(n =29),moderate HIE group(n = 17) and severe HIE group(n = 18).41 normal newborn infants were enrolled as control group. The serum concentrations of IL-10 were detected using RIA,and the level of MCP-1 was detected with ELISA.The results were statistically analyzed.Results(1) The levels of IL-10 and MCP-1 of acute phase HIE group were higher than that of control group(P0.01 ),also higher than that of recovery phase HIE group(P0.01).The differences between recovery phase HIE group and control group were not significant(P0.05).(2) In severe HIE groups, the serum IL-10 and MCP-1 levels were higher than those of moderate HIE group(all P0.05)and mild HIE group(all P0.05).(3)The serum concentrations of IL-10 in acute and recovery phase HIE groups were positively correlated with those of MCP-1(r =0.851,r =0.832,all P0.05),the serum concentrations of IL-10 of severe, moderate and mild HIE groups were positively correlated with those of MCP-1(r =0.846,r = 0.835,r = 0.827,all P0.05).Conclusion Serum IL-10 and MCP-1 levels could be used as reference of disease severity and recovery effect of HIE.
