Abstract
Objective To monitor the level changes of Ca2+and NO and IL-18 in neonatal HIE with nimodifine utilization and observe the effective actions of nimodifine on alleviating the patients' condition. Methods The patients were divided into Nimodifine group and regular therapy group, normal neonates were chosen to be as a control group. In each group, the concentrations of Ca2+ and NO and IL-18 were tested on 1 day,3 days,7 days and 14 days. The changes and significances of Ca2+ and NO and IL-18 were analysed. Results The levels of serum NO and IL-18 in HIE groups on the first day after birth were higher than those of the control group, but Ca2+were lower(P0.01).The levels of NO and IL-18 in patients with moderate and severe HIE were much higher than those of patients with mild HIE,but Ca2+ were lower(P0.01).The treatment time for reducing higher levels of Ca2+ and NO and IL-18 to normal limit in the nimodifine group was much shorter than that of the regular therapy group(P0.01).Conclusion The levels of Ca2+and NO and IL-18 in HIE patients are positively correlated with the severity of condition, whereby they may be acted as indicators for monitoring the conditon changes.Nimodifine shortens the treatment time for reducing the levels of Ca2+and NO and IL-18 to normal limit in HIE patients compared with regular therapy without obvious side-effects.
