Abstract

Objective:To explore the clinical value of ultrasound in assessing the therapeutic effect of uterine arterial embolization(UAE) in hysteromyoma.Methods:78 patients with hysteromyoma were examined by ultrasound before and after UAE.Results:①After UAE,the mean volume of hysteromyoma decreased significantly, and the blood perfusion disappeared.Follow-up ultrasonic examination showed an average reduction of 71% in dominant hysteromyoma volume after 3 years.②Blood reappearance was found in 2 patients(2.5%).③There was no significant difference in the effect between polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) and sodium alginate(KMG).Conclusion:UAE is an efficient therapy of hysteromyoma, and color Doppler ultrasound is a very useful tool to assess the therapeutic effect of UAE in hysteromyoma.
