Abstract

Objective: To discuss the effect of Metoprolol combined with extended release Nifedipine tablets on primary hypertension. Methods: A total of 150 cases with primary hypertension admitted from Oct 2008 to Oct 2010 were selected, and randomly divided into three groups, with 50 cases in each group.Patients in Group A were treated by Metoprolol combined with extended release Nifedipine tablets, patients in Group B were treated by extended release Nifedipine tablets and patients in Group C were treated by Metoprolol. The efficacy and side effect were observed and compared. Results: The efficacy in Group A was significantly higher than other two groups(P0.05).The change of heart rate was not significant in Group A,but significant in Group B and C.The incidence of side effect was significantly lower in Group A than other two groups(P0.05).Conclusions: Metoprolol combined with extended release Nifedipine tablets is effective, and of few side effect. It has little effect on heart rate, and is worthy clinical application.
