Abstract
Objective To investigate the value of clinical application of metoprolol combined with nifedipine in the treatment of essential hypertension. Methods 76 cases of patients with essential hypertension were divided into the control group( extended release nifedipine tablets alone) and the experimental group( metoprolol and nifedipine combined treatment),each of 38 cases. After treatment for 3 months, the therapeutic effect of the 2 groups were observed and compared. Results The total effective rate of the experimental group was 92. 1%,which was higher than 73. 7% of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant( P 0. 05). The blood pressure descend range of the experimental group was more obviously than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant( P 0. 05). The incidence of adverse reaction of the experimental group was 7. 9%,which was lower than 28. 9% of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant( P 0. 05). Conclusions Metoprolol and nifedipine combined treatment has high safety and obvious antihypertensive effect in the treatment of essential hypertension, which is worthy of clinical application.
