A Comparative Study Between Quetiapine and Risperidone in the Treatment of Schizophrenia

Abstract

Objective To compare the efficacy and safety treatment between quetiapine and risperidone in the treatment of schizophrenia. Methods 60 schizophrenia patients were randomly divided into two groups and received quetiapine and risperidone respectively for 8 weeks. PANSS was used to assess the clinical effcacy and TESS was used to evaluate the side effects. Results Both groups had a similar effect,and all had less side effects. Couclusion Quetiapine and risperidonhad a definite effect in the treatment of schizophrenia and had rather high safety.
