Abstract
Objective:To detect the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor-C(VEGF-C) and its receptor VEGFR-3 in cervical cancer.Methods: Paraffin-embedded specimens from 50 patients with cervical cancer were used to measure the expression of VEGF-C and VEGFR-3 by means of the streptavidin peroxidase method.Results:Of the 50 patients,the positive rate of VEGF-C in cervical cancer was 90%(45/50),which suggested a positive correlation between the expression of VEGF-C and VEGFR-3.Both of VEGF-C and VEGFR-3 were positively related to lymph node metastasis.Conclusion:VEGF-C can promote the lymph node metastasis of cervical cancer.The VEGF-C and VEGFR-3 signal transducting system is closely related to the lymphangiogenesis and lymph node metastasis of cervical cancer.
