Abstract
Objective To study the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)A,C,D and lymphatic endothelial cell marker Prox-1 in cervical cancer,analyze their relationship with the clinical stage of cervical cancer and lymphatic metastasis,and interactions among VEGF-C/VEGF-D/VEGFR-3 signaling pathways.Methods Reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain(RT-PCR)and real-time RT-PCR was performed to test VEGF-A,C,D,and Prox-1 expressions in 100 cervical cancer tissues and 20 normal cervical tissues.Results VEGF-A,D and Prox-1 expressions were significantly different in lymph node tissues with or without lymph node metastasis.VEGF-C expression in cancer tissue was lower than that in normal tissue.Conclusion VEGF-A,C,D play the important roles in the lymphatic metastasis and possibly from multiple aspects impact the cervical cancer development and metastasis.
