Abstract
The Wei, Jin Northern and Southern Dynasties what 世说新语(sin shuo sin yu) stands for are periods in the development of the Chinese language hum the ancient Chinese language to the medieval Chinese language. This book' s language comparatively approaches the colloquialism of that time. Therefore, we can know well the tendency that Chinese grow and develop to a certain extent through studying some language phenomena of this book. The paper tries to explore the law of developing for the words of Chinese exactly by means of researching the usage of 子(zi)that come out in 世说新语(shi shuo xin yu)
