Abstract

The status qua of theoretical research on the brittleness of TiAl intermetallics at different levels from macro to micro scales was reviewed.The formation reasons of Ti-Al intermetallics brittleness at room temperature have been discussed,and focused on the electronic structures of Ti-Al intermetallics in special.The concrete measures and available methods to improve the brittleness at different structural levels have also been proposed.
