Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),and the relationship among the histological grading, clinical stage, pelvic lymph node metastasis in cervical cancer. Methods The expression of VEGF in 52 samples of cervical cancer and 14 normal cervix tissues were detected by immunohistochemical assay. Results The positive rate of VEGF in cervical cancer was 56%,While 0 in normal cervix tissues, the difference between them was significant(P0.05).The positive rate of VEGF was related to the clinical stage and pelvic lymph node metastasis of cervical cancer. Conclusion The expression of VEGF may be closely associated with the infiltrating development, metastasis and prognosis of cervical cancer.
