Abstract

Purpose: To investigate the platelet activation of apheresis platelets irradiated by gamma ray. Materials and Mothods: Twenty apheresis platelets were prepared by cell separator and irradiated by γ-ray at the dose of 27 Gy, then stored up to 5 days on standard conditions, samples were taken at another day. Contents of P-Selectin on platelet surface, soluble P-Selectin (sP-Selectin) and β-thromboglubulin(β-TG) in plasma were analysed by RIA and ELISA respectively. Results: After storage 3d, 5d, contents of P-Selectin on platelet surface, sP-Selectin and β-TG in plasma of the irradiated and control group have obvious difference compared with that of prestorage(P 0.05),but the comparison between two groups have no difference(P 0.05).Conclusions: γ-ray irradiation have no effect on platelet activation.
