Abstract

Objective To explore the expression of p33ING1b and p53 gene in brain gliomas and their relationship. Methods Immunohistochemical SP staining was used to examine the expression of p33ING1b and p53 in 40 fresh samples of gliomas and 10 control tissues. The SPSS11.5 was used for statistical analysis. Results The positive rate of p33ING1b expression was 77.5%(31/40) in gliomas and 100% in normal controls. The positive expression rate of p53 was 37.5%(15/40) in gliomas. The expression of p33ING1b decreased with the increase of tumor grade, while p53 expression increased.Labeling index(LI) of p33ING1b expression was negatively correlated with p53 expression in brain glioma. Conclusion In brain glioma,p33ING1b and p53 are negatively correlated, which may play an important role in the occurrence and development of gliomas.
