Clinical efficacy of Jianwei Yuyang granules combined with omeprazole in treatment of peptic ulcer:a report of 20 cases

Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of Jianwei Yuyang granules combined with enteric coated tablets of omeprazole in the treatment of peptic ulcer(PU).Methods:A total of 120 PU patients were randomly and equally divided into six groups:J-group who were Helicobacter pylori(Hp)-negative and received Jianwei Yuyang granules,O-group who were Hp-negative and received omeprazole,JO-group who were Hp negative and received Jianwei Yuyang granules plus omeprazole,J+ group who were Hp-positive and received Jianwei Yuyang granules,O+ group who were Hp-positive and received omeprazole,and JO+ group who were Hp positive and received Jianwei Yuyang granules plus omeprazole.After one month of medication,the six groups were compared in terms of the treatment outcomes evaluated clinically,by gastroscopy,and according to traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) syndromes as well as Hp clearance rate.Results:Compared with the O + and O groups,the JO + and JO groups had significantly better treatment outcomes evaluated clinically and according to TCM syndromes(P0.05 or P0.01).There were no significant differences in treatment outcome evaluated by gastroscopy and Hp clearance rate between all groups(P 0.05).Conclusion:Jianwei Yuyang granules combined with omeprazole have significantly improved clinical efficacy in the treatment of PU.
