Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of rbesartan on the serum Cysteine C(CysC)level in patients with diabetic nephropathy.Methods A prospective case-control study of patients with diabetic nephropathy who were ulldel-well glyeemie control,comparing those who had received 24 weeks of Rbesartan(N=40)to those without Rbesartan (N=40).Comparisons were made by measuring the changes of the eysteine-C level serum.Results Rbesartan treated patients had significantly depressed CysC level(P0.01),while the changes in CysC level of the control group had no statistical difference.Conclusion Rbesartan could lower the serum CysteineC(CysC)level in patients with diabetic nephropathy.
