Effect of Jianpijiedu decoction on the life quality of colorectal cancer patients in advanced stage

Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of Jianpijiedu decoction on the life quality of colorectal cancer patients in advanced stage.Methods 60 patients with advanced colorectal cancer were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,30 cases in each group.Two groups were given the same FOLFOX chemotherapy.Patients in the treatment group added Jianpijiedu decoction during the treatment.The therapeutic course in two groups was 3 weeks.Traditional Chinese medicine clinical syndromes,the Chinese SF-36 scale score points for quality of life before and after treatment and adverse reactions were observed for evaluation of the effect after two courses.Results The total improvement rates of Traditional Chinese medicine clinical syndromes were 83.3% and 60.0% in treatment and control groups,the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P0.05).Quality of life on SF-36 scale of the treatment group in general health,bodily pain,vitality,emotional function,mental health,health changes,physiological functions of the dimension points were superior to those in control group(P0.05).Adverse reactions during treatment in treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P0.01,P0.05).Conclusion Jianpijiedu decoction can improve clinical symptoms,reduce side effects,improve quality of life and prolong survival.
