Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical curative effect of ProTaper nickel-titanium rotary instrument's system in root canal preparation. Methods 75 persons(73 molars,214 root canals) with pulpitis or periapical periodontitis were randomly divided into experimental group and control group. The test group used ProTaper nickel-titanium rotary instrument's system in root canal preparation with downward technology, while control group used hand stainless steel K file with step-back technique in root canal preparation.Root canal preparation time required and the postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Results The experimental group was significantly shorter than the control group in time spent, and less in postoperative complications. Conclusion ProTaper nickel-titanium rotary instrument's system is faster and more comfortable, but attention should be paid to prevention of instrument fracture.
