Abstract

Freedom is a main thread that runs through Zhuang Zi's philosophy. He based his exploration of freedom on the difficult positions of human life. The society he lived in determined that the freedom he pursued is groundless and unrealizable. According to him, freedom was divided into relative freedom and absolute freedom and the latter was what he pursued.
