Effects of Shengxuebao mixture on mouse with leukopenia induced by cyclophosphamide

Abstract

Objective To observe the effects of Shengxuebao mixture on mouse model with leukopenia induced by cyclophosphamide(CTX).Method Oral administration of Shengxuebao mixture was continuously given to mice for 10 days while CTX was administered intraperitoneally in the sixth and seventh day to induce mouse leukopenia disorder.The changes of blood white cell count and the amount of karyote in bone marrow,as well as the coefficient of liver,spleen,or thymus gland were observed between the drug-pretreated group and the control group.Result Mice obviously presented leukopenia disorder after received cyclophosphamide for 2 days(100 mg·kg-1,intraperitoneally),including the significant decrease in the amount of blood white cell or the amount of karyote in bone marrow,as well as the lowered coefficient of liver,spleen or thymus gland,respectively,compared with the control group.Pretreatment with Shengxuebao mixture increased significantly the decreases in the cellular induced in mice with leukopenia disorder.Conclusion Shengxuebao mixture improves effectively the mice with leukopenia disorder induced by CTX.
