Abstract
Objective To understand the mental health status of middle school students in Henan province,and to provide evidence for the prevention.Methods A total of 21 870 middle school students were selected from 7 provincial cities by stratified cluster sampling,and then they were investigated with Mental Health Inventory of Middle School Students(MMHI-60).Results The detection rate of psychological problems among middle school students in Henan was 45.7%.There were no significant differences in detection rates of psychological problems and average scores of the scale between boys and girls(P0.05),while the detection rates and average scores among students in rural area and high school students were significantly higher than that of the students in city and junior high school(P0.05).Conclusion Mental health status of students in rural area and high school is poorer than that in city and junior high school students.Sense of academic pressure is the most prominent psychological problem among Henan middle school students.
