Abstract

Objective To explore the relationship of serum lipoprotein(a) and severity of coronary artery stenosis with myocardial infarction through analyzing the serum lipoprotein(a) levels in different subtypes of coronary heart disease. Methods Coronary angiography was performed in 384 patients. The patients were divided into myocardial infarction group, angina group and control group according to clinical diagnosis, and one-vessel disease group,two-vessel disease group,three-vessel disease group and control group according to the number of coronary artery lesions. The levels of serum lipoprotein(a) of all groups were detected and the relationship between serum lipoprotein(a) and Gensini score of coronary artery was analyzed. Results The levels of serum lipoprotein were significantly higher in one-,two-and three-vessel disease groups than those in control group(P0.05).But there was no significant difference between every two groups of coronary heart disease(P0.05).The positive correlation of serum lipoprotein(a) and Gensini score of coronary artery were demonstrated(r=0.378,P0.01).The level of serum lipoprotein(a) in myocardial infarction group was significantly higher than that in angina group(P0.01).Conclusion The level of serum lipoprotein in coronary heart disease is positively correlated to the severity of coronary artery stenosis. The increase of serum lipoprotein(a) level is closely correlated to the risk of myocardial infarction.
