Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of misoprostol in prevention from postpartum hemorrhage. Methods 76 cases in the hospital cesarean section from October 2009 to July 2011 were randomly divided into the treatment group of 38 cases and the control group of 38 cases. The treatment group was with rectum placed 400 μg misoprostol after the baby was delivered. The control group was with uterus intramuscular oxytocin 20 IU.The post-partum bleeding 2h and 24h of the two groups were compared. Results The intraoperative blood loss during the surgery for the two groups of mothers was significant different(P0.05).The hemorrhage volume 2 hours and 24 hours postoperative for the treatment group was significantly lower than the control group, the hemoglobin reduction was also significantly lower than the control group(P0.05).The maternal cases of postpartum hemorrhage in the treatment group was only 1 case, accounting for 2.63%,was significantly lower than the control group of 7 cases(18.42%)(P0.05).The main reason of the two groups of postpartum hemorrhage was uterine contractions fatigue. Conclusions The effect is obvious, for the application of misoprostol to prevent postpartum hemorrhage can effectively reduce postpartum bleeding volume and the number of cases, increase efforts to postpartum uterine contraction, and has fewer side effect on rectal administration.
