Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of misoprostol in preventing postpartum hemorrhage. Methods 186 pregnant women who were admitted to this hospital and underwent vaginal delivery complicated with high risk factors of postpartum hemorrhage were included in this study and divided into two groups with 93 in each one according to admission time. The control group was treated with oxytocin, while the observation group was treated with misoprostol. The 2h postpartum hemorrhage volume of the pregnant women and adverse reaction were compared between the two groups. Results The2 h postpartum hemorrhage volume was(127.2±53.6)m L in the observation group and(289.6±71.3)m L in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant, P 0.05. The adverse reaction rate was 2.2% in the observation group and4.3% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant, P 0.05. Conclusion Misoprostol in preventing postpartum hemorrhage is worthy of application due to its satisfactory clinical effect.
