Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the value of internal iliac artery infusion and chemoembolization in the treatment of cervical carcinoma with hemorrhage. Methods:Fifteen patients with cervical carcinoma with hemorrhage were administered to internal iliac artery infusion and chemoembolization and super-selective tumor artery embolization.Tumor supplying artery was observed obviously and was embolized with super-selective lipiodal with gelation sponge chips.Tumor supplying stem artery was embolized with gelation sponge chips.Results:10 of 15 patients with hemorrhage were successfully controlled.5 of 15 were treated again because of the second hemorrhage between 1 and 3 months. The overall response rate was 80%(CR 8,PR 4).Conclusion:The treatment of cervical carcinoma with hemorrhage by internal iliac artery infusion and chemoembolization and super-selective tumor artery embolization was safe and effective. It is an effective method for the treatment of cervical carcinoma.
