Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical value of superselective uterine arterial chemoembolization therapy for the cervicalcancer, and to discuss its therapeutic effect and technique. Methods 33 cases of cervical cancer confirmed by pathology were treated bychemointubation of internal iliac artery and the followed by silk embolization of uterine arterial, some cases by gelfoam embolization ofinternal iliac artery also. Results CR+PR(complete remission+partly remission) was 96.9%(32/33),NC(no change) was 3.1%(1/33).24 cases(24/33) were treated by surgery after arterial chemoembolization 1~3 months later. Conclusion Superselective uterinearterial chemoembolization therapy is an effective therapy with low side effects for the treatment of cervical cancer, and silk as embolicmaterial is safe and effective.
