Curative Effectiveness of Erigeron Breviscapus Combined with Mexobalamin in the Treatment of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy

Abstract

Objective:To discuss the curative effectiveness of erigeron breviscapus combined with mexobalamin in the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Methods:106 patients with diabetes were randomly divided into two groups with 53 patients in each group. The patients in two groups were all treated with hypoglycemic drugs or insulin. The patients in the erigeron breviscapus and mexobalamin group were treated with erigeron breviscapus (50 mg) and mexobalamin (500 μg) combined, once a day, and those in the control group were treated with mexobalamin (500 μg) alone, daily once. The treatment courses were 4 weeks. Results:The effective rate in the erigeron breviscapus and mexobalamin group was 83% after 4 weeks and 84.9% after 6 weeks respectively, and the improvement degree of nerve conduction speed was significantly better than that in control group (P0.01). Conclusion:Erigeron breviscapus combined with mexobalamin to treat diabetic peripheral neuropathy is an effective therapy.
