Abstract
N-butyl acetate was synthesized from acetic acid and n-butanol,using NiSO4 as the catalyst.The influences of reaction conditions on the esterification rate included the amount of the catalyst,eaction time,molar ratio of alcohol to acid,repeated uses of the catalyst.Experimental results showed that NiSO4 is an excellent catalyst in the synthesis of n-butyl acetate.It was high activity,conomic,environmental friendly and could be used repeatedly.Under the best conditions the esterification rate of over 94.8%was attained.
