Abstract

Ancient Chinese Literary Theory is based on philosophy viewpoint of the unity of man and nature,ethical viewpoint of the unity of individual and society,aesthetic viewpoint of the unity of beauty and good,artistic viewpoint of emphasizing emotion.These cultural genes determine the general features of ancient Chinese literary theories,and restrict the development of the system of ancient Chinese literary theories.Ancient Chinese literary theories have achieved significant development since 1890s.In the collision and intersection of Chinese and foreign cultures,the modern character of literary theory and criticism is coming into being.And the process of modernization of ancient Chinese literary theories has also commenced.A number of major issues indicate the development of ancient Chinese literary theories.
