Abstract

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects, experience and the complications of tension free mesh plug hernia repair in the treatment of recurrent inguinal hernia. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on the 28 cases of recurrent inguinal hernia subject to tension free mesh plug hernia repair. The patients were followed up for 17 36 months, average 26 months. All patients were cured by tension free mesh plug hernia repair.Complications occurred in 5 cases. No recurrence was reported. Conclusion Patients with recurrent inguinal hernia who undergo tension free mesh plug hernia repair have low recurrence rate, less postoperative pain and return to normal activity and work sooner. This procedure may have fewer complications with perfect management.
