Abstract

The nature of metaphor is to understand,analyze,perceive,and describe one category of things through another.Metaphor is a kind of speech act and psychological procedure.Meanwhile,it is a means of human reasoning and cognition.Language can not include all the cognitive competence.Nor can it decide the development of cognitive competence.Whereas,language plays an important role during the internalization from action to reasoning.Language can accelerate the development of cognition.Metaphors are the bases of the human conceptual system and the tools for people to learn the world.
