Abstract

Objective: A UV method was established for the rapid determination of 5 kinds of organic acids in Flos Lonicerae extracts. Methods:The HPLC method was used as the reference method to determine the contents of chlorogenic acid, caffeic acid,3,4-dicaffeoylquinic acid,3,5-dicaffeoylquinic acid and 4,5-dicaffeoylquinic acid in the Flos Lonicerae extracts.UV absorption spectrum was scanned at the 220-400 nm wavelength range. The PLS models was developed to correlate the UV spectra with the corresponding values determined by the reference method. Then the performance of calibration models was validated.Result:The correlation coefficients of the validation set were all above 0.90,and the relative predicted errors for the 5 kinds of organic acid were 1.46%,-2.13%,0.42%,6.40% and 3.83%,respectively.Conclusion: Owing to its simple, fast and accurate properties, the presented method could be a method for the rapid determination of organic acids in Flos Lonicerae extracts.
