Abstract

Objective:To evaluate effectiveness of intravenous amiodarone in treating patients with or without acute myocardial infarction(AMI)complicated with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation(PAF).Methods:The 23 patients with AMI and 20 patients without AMI complicated PAF were given load dosage of amiodarone 5 mg/kg,then maintenance dosage of 10~20/kg·d.Maximum dosage was less than 2 200 mg during 24 h.Results:The cardioversion rate of PAF in AMI group was 100%,in control group was 70%,there was statistical difference between two groups(P0.05).For cardioversion time,it of AMI group was(2063±138)min,there was no statistical difference between two groups(P0.05).Conclusion:Treating AMI or non-AMI patients complicated with paroxysmal fibrillation by using amiodarone has much higher cardioversion rate and is safe.
