Related research on the anxiety depression status and personality characteristic in psychiatric nurses

Objectives To explore the anxiety depression status and personality characteristic in psychiatric nurses in order to carry out nurses mental health working.Methods Mental health measurements were conducted in 116 psychiatric nurses by Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SDS),Self-Rating Depression Scale(SAS) and Eysenck Personal Questionnaire(EPQ).Results(1) The levels of anxiety and depression in psychiatric nurses ware both significantly higher than the national norm(P0.05).(2) The scores of P and E items of EPQ in psychiatric nurses were significantly higher than the national norm(P0.05),while the scores of N items of EPQ was lower than the national norm(P 0.05).(3) The regression equation about anxiety is Y=1.314χP+0.857χN+26.311,It showed that P and N had positive correlation function to anxiety emotion(P 0.05).The regression equation about depression is Y=1.833χP+0.952χN-0.470χE+32.390,it showed that both P and N had positive correlation in anxiety and depression(P0.05),and E had negative correlation in depression(P0.05).Conclusions The anxiety and depression in psychiatric nurses was obvious.Their anxiety and depression had close relation with personality characteristic.
