An analysis of relations between anxiety,depression and personality of psychosis practical nurses

Objective: To explore the relations between anxiety,depression and personality of psychosis practical nurses.Methods:A total of 112 psychosis practical nurses were assessed with Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS) and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire(EPQ).They were divided into anxiety group and non-anxiety group according to the score of SAS,as well as depression group and non-depression group according to the score of SDS,and correlation analysis was conducted to explore the relations with personality traits.Results:The rates of anxiety and depression were found as 25.89% and 36.61% respectively in the subjects.The scores of the EPQ-N and EPQ-P were both significantly higher in the anxiety and depression groups than those in the control groups(t=4.14～6.54,P0.01).The scores of SAS and SDS were positively correlated with EPQ-N and EPQ-P,and negatively correlated with EPQ-E(r=-0.13～0.50,P0.05).Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that EPQ-N,EPQ-P and EPQ-L were the main factors influencing anxiety and depression.Conclusion: There are obvious Anxiety and depression in the psychosis practical nurses,which are related with personality traits of psychosis practical nurses.
