Rereading W.Faulkner’s Novel Sound and Fury

This essay attempts to make a close examination to Faulkner’s novel Sound and Fury under the guide of the modern theory of narration, with a view of illustrating narrative variation between time and space, of probing into its artistic features of the narrative structure existing in modern novels. The novel adopts such modern techniques as polyphonic narration, defamiliarising narration, stream of consciousness and pluralistic narration to penetrate into the complexity of our modern world.
