Abstract
The remarkable difference between Chinese modern novel and ancient novel lies in the ways of narration.Ironical narration is a special way of narration. In the text of ironical narration, the author uses ways of setting the super-narration level, the unreliable narrator, and the hidden author and narrator, making the superficial level of narration and the deep level of meaning comprise a strong irony.Through these ways,we can reach the effects of enriched implied text meaning and enhanced power of expression which can't be obtained by the normal way of narration.
