Abstract
With sodium cinnamate and benzyl chloride as raw material, tetrabutylammonium chloride as cata-lyst,benzyl cinnamate was synthesized directly under normal pressure and microwave irradiation. The effects of amount of catalyst, power and time of microwave irradiation on yield were studied. The most suitable reaction condi-tions were that with0.05mol sodium cinnamate, the mole ratio of sodium cinnamate and benzyl chloride was1.0:1.2,the amount of tetrabutylammonium chloride1.0g /0.05mol sodium cinnamate and the microwave irradiation time 25min with the power of300W.The yield of benzyl cinnamate was over84%.
