Abstract
This paper deals with the conversational implicature theory by introducing the Cooperative Principle, the Politeness Principle and Relevance Principle. It discusses the importance of the theory in understanding correctly the conversational implicature in context. It also illustrates some possible ways to improve listening comprehension teaching and learning.
