Abstract
As an important part of Diesel engine, strength of crankshaft directly affects diesel engine' s lifetime. Self-developed crankshaft finite element s ystem is introduced and the effects of different materials on five-cylinder su percharged diesel engine are illustrated by the example of calculating crankshaf t strength. Calculations and tests show that the system is feasible and the calc ulation is credible.
