Abstract

The crankshaft is one of the most important parts in the internal combustion engine, it changes the force from the connecting rod into the torque around its axis. To ensure the reLiabiLity of the work, the crankshaft sHould have sufficient strength and stiffness. Based on the structure and the working principle of diesel engine, the CATIA software is appLied to estabLish three-dimensional soLid model of a single cyLinder diesel engine's crankshaft, and then the stress analysis and modal analysis of the crankshaft are carried out using the ABAQUS software. The reference is provided for the design of the crankshaft and improvement.
