Abstract

[Objective] To evaluate the value of 2D rconstruction and three-dimensional multislice spiral CT in the diagnosis of acetabular fractures.[Methods] A total of 10 patients with acetabular fractures were evaluated by axial computed tomography(CT),2D rconstruction and three-dimensional CT.[Results] Axial CT scans readily demonstrated the fractures and presence of intraarticular fragments. But transverse fracture isn't easily showd.3D CT was helpfull in understanding the precise plane of the fracture, the degree of disruption of disruptions of the articular surface, and spatial relationships of fragments. But the 3D CT images were less satisfactory for undisplaced fractures.multi planar reconstruction(MPR) was the valid complement for it.[Conclusion] Complex acetabular fractures with displacement should be evaluated by means of 2D rconstruction and three-dimensional multislice spiral CT.However 3D CT is of little practical value in undisplaced acetabular fractures.
