Abstract

Objective: To evaluate 3D and multiplaner reconstruction helical CT in acetabular fractures. Methods: 27 patients with acetabular fractures underwent helical CT scanning, and the source images were reformed with 3D and multiplanar reconstruction(MPR) that focused on the type of the acetabular fracture and characteristics of CT manifestation. Results: In 27 patients with 31 acetabular fractures, axial CT, SSD and MPR clearly demonstrated the types of acetabular fractures, except for a T type of fracture was misdiagnosed as a transverse fracture with 3D and MPR. 3D and MPR could afford intuitional and detailed information of acetabular fractures.Conclusion:3D and MPR are supplementary means for axial CT scanning in the diagnosis of acetabular fractures.
