Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical effect of hydrochlorothiazide combined with enalapril on patients with essential hypertension and its safety. Methods Two hundred and thirty patients with essential hypertension were randomly divided into two groups: patients in control group(n=115) were treated with enalapril 5-10 mg,twice a day,po;patients in treatment group(n=115) were treated with hydrochlorothiazide(12.5-25 mg,once a day, oral taken) combined with enalapril, three months as a course of treatment. The effects and safety were observed. Results The total effective rate in treatment group was 100%and that in control group was 62.6%.The control rate of the blood pressure in treatment group was 77.3% and that in the control group was 47.8%.There were significant differences between the two groups(P0.01).There were no side effects in the two groups. Conclusion It was effective and safe that hydrochlorothiazide combined with enalapril in treatment of patients with essential hypertension.
