To Compare the Value of Leep and the Microwave for the Treatment of Cervical Erosion

Abstract

Objective: To compare the value of LEEP(Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure) and the microwave for the treatment of cervical erosion.Methords: A retrospective study was carried out on 256 cases of cervical erosion who underwent LEEP from 2006-01-01 to 2006-08-31,and 200 cases of cervical erosion who underwent microwave from 2005-01-01 to 2005-08-31.Clinical parameters including operating time,intra-operative blood loss,post-operation discharge of vagina,post-operation blood loss,and the treatment results were compared between groups.Results: The mean operation time and intra-operative blood loss and in LEEP group are more than that in microwave group,but the post-operation discharge of vagina,post-operation blood loss are less than that in microwave group,and the treatment result is better in LEEP group.Conclusions: LEEP is a safe and effective surgery in treatment of cervical erosion.
