Abstract

Aim: To investigate the value of left ventricular flow propagation velocity(Vp) by color M-mode Doppler(CDM)for left ventricular diastolic function of early newborns(a week after birth). Methods: Healthy early neonates(n=104) and asphyxial neonates with myocardial damage(n=56) were measured Vp by CDM.Results:(1)The normal range of left ventricular diastolic function index(Vp) was 27~47 cm/s.(2)Vp of the hypoxial neonates with myocardial damage were significantly lower than that of normal neonates.(3)When conventional Doppler indices were unavailable,Vp could be accurately available. Conclusion:Vp measured by color M-mode Doppler sonography can accurately evaluate left ventricular diastolic function of early neonates.
